Beauty | Hair extensions…good or bad?

After Cheryl Fernandez-Versini was spotted with unsightly looking hair extensions, many are wondering if they should take the plunge or leave their hair alone.

Will they or won’t they? That is now the question many are asking about hair extensions. If Cheryl Fernandez-Versini cannot get hair extensions right with all the right professionals and money, how can the rest of us?

With the chance of having long and luscious locks, it is a risk many of us are willing to make. And we are also happy to pay a high cost for the look. With prices averaging between €300 and €600, getting hair extensions does not come cheap.

Before you take the plunge, you should go to someone that is offering you some type of guarantee.  Ask them to show you some pictures of their previous work. The good stylists should be able to show you some before and after pictures of what they have done in the past.

You need to make sure that both texture and colour match what’s already on your head. Textures of extensions can vary greatly, depending on which country they came from. Hair is primarily European, Chinese, or Indian, but there are plenty of other options available.

The best hair extensions can be washed, dyed, straightened and curled – just like your normal hair. If you take good care of them and treat them well, they should last a couple of months.

Extensions can damage your hair if they are not treated and well cared for. Go to all scheduled follow-up appointments and take proper of them with the recommended products and washing procedures. If they are left in for too long of a time, it is going to become one big old knot!
