Tried and Tested: Spray Tan Time

We tried the Cocoa Brown by Marissa Carter Professional Spray Tan

Here’s how Michelle got on…

I should start by saying I’m a fake tan fan.

Over the years I’ve tried most of the brands on the market, but until recently I was a spray tanning novice. I had always been under the illusion that that a spray tan seemed like an unnecessary spend, but I’ll hold my hands up and say I was wrong.

I had my spray tan done at Late Night Beauty Salon in Temple Bar in Dublin, but it’s available in salons all over Ireland. The beauty therapist went through the entire spray tanning process with me and we spoke about the look I was hoping for, before getting started. She also advised me to apply body lotion to the palms of my hands, soles of my feet and around my nails, to avoid tan clinging to these areas.

Next, two layers of tan were applied as my complexion is naturally quite fair. I went for a full-body spray tan, but other options are available. In total the application took about 10 to 15 minutes. Once applied it didn’t take long at all to dry and within a couple of hours the tan was no longer sticky.

I was really impressed by the smell, or lack of, having experienced my fair share of strong smelling tans in the past and after showering, it was completely gone. Over the next few days I moisturised daily using the Cocoa Brown Chocolate Whip, as it’s oil free and helps to maintain the tan for longer.

My tan lasted perfectly for about four to five days. I was so impressed with the colour as it was a really natural looking shade, perfect for my skin tone. I would definitely recommend this to someone who is new to the world of tanning or if you have a special occasion coming up and want your tan to look perfect on the day.

It’s a 10/10 from me!
