It has to be one of our favourite books by Roald Dahl and at long last The BFG has been made into a movie, releasing in Ireland next month. And we couldn’t be more excited! With a combination of three amazing talents – Roald Dahl, Walt Disney and Steven Spielberg – it’s bound to be unmissable. But it has got us thinking about the book and reminiscing about some of the best parts. And while the words can be a little random, they’re also full of wisdom.
Here are some of our favourite BFG quotes – and we’re hoping they made it to the big screen.
- “What I mean and what I say is two different things.” (He was on to us women a long time ago!)
- “A whizzpopper! Us giants is making whizzpoppers all the time! Whizzpopping is a sign of happiness. It is music in our ears! You surely is not telling me that a little whizzpopping if forbidden among human beans?”
- “Two rights don’t equal a left.”
- “Dreams is full of mystery and magic . . . . Do not try to understand them.”
- “But where, you might ask, is this book that the BFG wrote? It’s right here. You’ve just finished reading it.”
- “The matter with human beans is that they is absolutely refusing to believe in anything unless they is actually seeing it right in front of their own schnozzles.”
