There’s nothing quite like having a quiet weekend in when you’ve had a hectic week but it’s still a bit of a shock to the system when you find yourself with nothing to do and all evening to do it. Our answer? Treat yourself to a bottle of wine, your favourite food and a binge session of TV. And if you’ve already watched Downton, Breaking Bad and Orange is the New Black, don’t fret. Here are 4 new things to watch on Netflix this weekend…

Tallulah, the Netflix original film, was written and directed by Sian Heder (from Orange is the New Black), and tells the story of young vagabond, Lu (Ellen Page – Whip It, Inception), who lives in a van and is fiercely independent in her hand-to-mouth existence. When a chance encounter incites her to impulsively “rescue” a baby from a negligent mother, Lu is at a loss for what to do and so turns to the only responsible adult she knows: Margo (Allison Janney – Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, The Way, Way Back), who mistakenly believes she’s the child’s grandmother. Tammy Blanchard (Into the Woods, Moneyball), Zachary Quinto (Star Trek, Girls), John Benjamin Hickey (The Good Wife, Manhattan) and Uzo Aduba (Orange is the New Black, The Wiz Live!), also round out the cast.

In Mexico, SICARIO means hitman. In the lawless border area stretching between the U.S. and Mexico, an idealistic FBI agent [Emily Blunt] is enlisted by an elite government task force official [Josh Brolin] to aid in the escalating war against drugs. Led by an enigmatic consultant with a questionable past [Benicio Del Toro], the team sets out on a clandestine journey forcing Kate to question everything that she believes in order to survive.

Stranger Things

Stranger Things is the story of a young boy who vanishes into thin air. As friends, family and local police search for answers, they are drawn into an extraordinary mystery involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl. Stranger Things stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Natalia Dyer, Cara Buono, Charlie Heaton, and Matthew Modine.

Beat Bugs

Meet the Beat Bugs: Jay, Kumi, Crick, Buzz and Walter, all with the charm and energy of five knockabout, lovable kids. They are best friends who band together to explore and learn in an overgrown suburban backyard, which to them is their entire universe.    Beat Bugs incorporates songs from the Lennon/McCartney ‘Northern Songs’ catalogue sung by some of the most popular musicians from today including P!nk, Aloe Blacc, Eddie Vedder, Robbie Williams, The Lumineers and Sia.   Each episode will feature some of the most well-known Beatles songs woven into uplifting stories filled with melody, hope and the wonders of friendship.
