It doesn’t matter what stage of life you’re at, if you want to do something, reach a goal or tick something off your bucket list, we’re all for doing it. And we love when someone takes their dream and makes it a reality, just like the wife of legendary TV broadcaster Gay Byrne, Kathleen Watkins, who has written a children’s book set to come out next week.

The book, which is called The Pigin of Howth tells the tales of a little piggy going on adventures in Howth, the place where her and Gay have spend many years together.

The collection of stories were officially launched by Ryan Tubridy this week and the collection includes three stories – Pigs Can’t Fly, but the can swim, Pigin’s Magical Midnight Adventure and A Day to Wear a Top Hat.

The book was written over the last number of years by Kathleen who is aged 82 – and proof that whenever you decide to make a dream come true, it’s never too late.

The collection is published by Gill Books and is priced at €16.99.
