Make your way to Lisdoonvarna this weekend

Marchmaking has taken place for years and years in Ireland and for the last 100 of them, people have been lucky finding love in Co Clare around this time of year. And this September will probably be no different as the festival returns once again to Lisdoonvarna from September 2nd to 4th (and onwards until October 9th). If you’re single, and considering a trip to the busy festival, here’s a few of the festival’s highlights to help make up your mind!

Rumour has it Naomi Campbell might be in town. So you’ll either want to scrub up well to compete or pop along purposely to try and get a selfie with her.

Nathan Carter is set to kick off the weekend while Derek Ryan, The Lisdoonvarna Showband and Blue Ridge Country are also set to take to the stage over the weekend. Music will be played in the Marquee, at the Hydro Hotel and the Imperial Hotel, so you won’t be short a dance or two!

There will be midweek dancing throughout the festival and there’ll even be a dedicated hen and stag party weekend from September 9th to 11th where parties from across the country can flock to make the most of a girly/boys weekend away with plenty of activities happening.

And finally, Lisdoonvarna’s LGBT music and matchmaking festival ‘The Outing’ will take place from October 7th to 9th, bringing the overall festival to a close. It’s now in its fourth year and is bigger than ever before, with pop up clubs, drag performances, comedy and live music and arts.
