Four hundred women will join forces in Clare this weekend for Silence + Voice 

This unique event, run by the Clare Women’s Network, will run on October 8th and 9th in Ennis. presenting women the opportunity to reflect on their journey as women in this country.

With debates, learning, music, song, drama, poetry and art, the event is open to every walk of life.

Speakers and themes at the two day event, which aims to celebrate women in Ireland today, include Bríd Keenan from Belfast on the effects of trauma; Siobhan Madden from Galway on the transformative possibilities of women’s story-telling through feminist community education; Dr Micheline Sheehy Skeffington also from Galway on her feminist and political activist grandparents and her current struggle for equality and Mary McDermott from Dublin on gender equality in Ireland.

And in true county Clare fashion ,there’ll be plenty of music and dancing.
