IT’S HERE | Bacon flavoured Philly and other strange foods
When deputy ed Tara stumbled across an article about the release of bacon-flavoured Philadelphia cream cheese we were intrigued.
We chatted about it and it quickly became apparent that there was a divide in the office – those who would love to experience bacon Philly and those who just didn’t think the combination worked.
We vowed to get our hands on a tub of it so we could do a proper taste-test but sadly, bacon-flavoured Philly is only on offer in the US and, as of yet, there are no plans to release it in Europe. Sad face.
While we wait for a member of Team WW to book a holiday to the States and smuggle us back some, we decided to have a think about other strange food-flavour-combinations. Here are some of our favourites…
Tuna mayo Doritos
Available in Asia, these bad boys look like they just shouldn’t work, but deep down we suspect they’d be the perfect snack to help you recover after a night on the town. We all know how satisfying a tuna mayo sandwich is at the best of times. Combine this comfort food with some Doritos and you’re onto a winner. We’d definitely chow down on a packet of these.
Pepsi White (yoghurt flavoured)
Available in Japan and parts of Russia, Pepsi White is a white, fizzy drink that just happens to taste like yoghurt. We can’t really understand why anyone would want a yoghurt flavoured drink when they can, y’know, just buy a yoghurt drink and drink that instead, but this beverage is said to have a cult following. We’re remaining unconvinced.
Diet coke (bacon flavoured)
The internet is divided when it comes to the topic of bacon flavoured Diet Coke. These images surfaced a few years ago, but many people think it is a hoax. However, if bacon flavoured Diet Coke does exist, we reckon it would be relatively refreshing. We would definitely swap our usual can for a swig of this, just to say we tried it. Besides, with all that bacon surely this Diet Coke is fused with a host of healthy protein?
Pizza flavoured Pringles
Staff ed Amy has had the pleasure of eating pizza flavoured Pringles in the past and she states that they are the “best thing ever.” These crisps look like regular Pringles but are dusted with a special flavouring that makes them taste exactly like a margarita pizza. Again, we would be of the opinion that ordering an actual pizza and eating that instead would be a lot more satisfying.
Peppermint Crème Eggs
Here in Woman’s Way we love Cadbury’s Crème Eggs and we’re firm believers that if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Peppermint is an interesting concept, but we’ll stick to our sweet, gooey regular Crème Eggs thanks.
Doughnut flavoured Lays crisps
We love crisps and doughnuts in equal measure separately, so the fact that you can combine the two basically blows our minds. We would definitely eat a packet of these doughnut-flavoured crisps and, being totally honest, we would probably go back for seconds too (don’t judge!).
Pear flavoured Kit Kat
Available in Asia, these Kit Kats combine wafer and chocolate with pears. Yes, as in the actual fruit. We’re not sure how we feel about this. We would probably try some although we’re not sure if we’d be fans or not.
Bacon flavoured toothpaste
No. Just no.
Honorable mention: Cadbury’s Top Deck
Made up of milk and white chocolate, this combination is a dream come true and we’re adding it to the list simply because we miss this bar so much. Come back Cadbury’s Top Deck! Come back!
