Oh Baby | Kelly’s Pregnancy Diary
The big news this week is movement. Yes that’s right I finally felt my little lady move, it wasn’t a kick but I think it was some sort of somersault. At 20 weeks she’s about the size of a banana (thank you Baby Centre http://www.babycentre.co.uk). It’s hard to believe that at this stage your baby is fully formed and just needs to get fatter and fatter from here on in. It is the most thrilling and happy feeling I think any woman will ever experience in pregnancy. Hopefully now they’ll just get stronger and stronger so her Daddy will be able to feel them. I think he’s a bit jealous that I can feel her and he can’t, although I think us ladies would be the same right?
I had a bit of a scare last week with a little bleed and headed straight to the A&E. When I saw the midwife, she used the Doppler and thank god our little ladies heartbeat was loud and clear. We had to wait a couple of hours to see the doctor. He was able to do a scan on me and checked over the baby. Luckily enough it was just a little scare and our baby girl is perfect. The doctors and midwives are so lovely and thoughtful in the hospital, knowing how scared I was they reassured me the whole time I was there. Pregnancy sure is a scary thing at times.

For all you expecting working Mommas, have you had that all-important maternity leave meeting at work yet? If not, just remember your maternity benefit form must be filled in by your doctor and boss, and sent into the Social Welfare six weeks before you plan to start your maternity leave.
