Are You Turning Into Your Mother?
Apparently 50% of us believe we are – including 23% of males!
To celebrate the launch of the Woman’s Way and Beko Mum of the Year Awards for 2017, research commissioned by Beko has shed light on some very interesting facts (and surprising for that matter) ahead of Mother’s Day celebrations this Sunday, March 26.

1 in 2 – the number of adults who say they have experienced a moment in their life where they have felt like they were turning into their mother. Women are more likely to experience this with an impressive 81%, while only about a quarter of males, 23%, can say the same.
1 in 5 – the number of adults who confessed to forgetting to buy their mother a Mother’s Day gift and more than once at that! At 26%, men are over twice as likely to do this compared to just 12% of women.
Love
When it comes to our mother’s approval of our significant other, over half of us – 6 in 10 to be precise – think this is very important. It seems females are more concerned about this than their male counterparts however with 65% versus 52% of men.
Life
A cup of tea from our mother’s house comes out on top with 57%, as the most popular reason for calling into see her once a week. With the failsafe reasons, washing and ironing and getting some dinner got 38% and 37% of the votes, respectively.
Advice
The saying ‘mum knows best’ is as true as ever, with 39% of people saying they still rely upon their mum for advice.
