Lash out this party season

Between after work drinks, parties and prepping for the big day itself, Christmas is in full swing. It’s no wonder we all want to look our best with as little maintenance as possible, including us here at Woman’s Way HQ. Róisín recently tried mink lashes – this season’s beauty must have – to see the fuss is about.

Shellac, Gelish, they’ve all had their moment in the sun, but this sparkle season’s must have is fabulous lashes – the mink kind. I’m not a regular visitor to the salon, but I’m no stranger to the odd beauty treatment. Waxing, lasers, threading – I’ve tried it all – but I’ve never had eyelash extensions.

I went to The Vanity Rooms in Stepaside, Co Dublin to have my mink lashes applied. The process is fairly simple -though you wouldn’t want to need fabulous lashes in a hurry – as the process normally takes one hour and 15 minutes.

Lying on a heated bed, with the wind howling and rain battering off the windows on a murky Tuesday evening, I was having my eyes transformed. What more could a girl ask for?

The therapist neatly applied each individual extension to my own lashes for a fuller look, and I felt absolutely nothing as the lashes were carefully set.

The mink lashes look every bit as opulent as they sound, but if you’re worried about achieving a natural look – don’t – as you decide and tell the therapist what look you’re after before you even get settled on the bed. What’s more, they’re not actually mink but rather synthetic. (The thought of them being real mink would’ve put me right off). FullSizeRender[3]

At The Vanity Rooms, for 90, you get an application of mink lashes by Nova Lash and an after care kit.

The after care kit contains all you need to look after and condition your new lashes, and comes complete with a specially designed mascara for the lashes, as you’re best not to use your own favourite mascara if you want to get the most from your lashes

Nova Lash mink lashes last up to two months and will fall out naturally with no gluey mess left behind (but I never want mine to fall out).
