This year’s unmissable documentary

If you liked the Catfish documentary, you’ll love the latest documentary film to hit screens worldwide: Tickled. The documentary follows two New Zealand journalists who stumble across a ‘competitive tickling endurance’ sport online, which soon balloons into something a lot more sinister than tickling seems.

After the journalists get in touch with Jane O’Brien media – the company promoting the tickling ‘sport’ – for an interview opportunity, they’re gobsmacked with the reply they get; a rampage of homophobic slurs which soon descend into legal threats. These journalists have unwittingly opened a can of worms and results in a must see documentary.

Currently showing in the Irish Film Institute (ifi.ie).
