Feel motivated this Monday
Weekends always seem to fly by and suddenly it’s Monday and we’re back sitting at our desks again, contemplating the busy week ahead. We all have a tradition of not liking Mondays very much and it’s probably safe to say it is the most dreaded day of the week for most people. But there are ways to make Mondays a little bit better and get you feeling a little more motivated. So shake off this morning’s cobwebs, make the decision to feel positive and take on board some of these Monday tips from us. The blues will have banished in no time. If these don’t work, perhaps another cup of coffee might do the trick!
Here are some ways to beat the Monday blues and start the work week off right:
Start off with a dose of positivity
Think of three things you are grateful for at this very moment. They can be anything at all and sometimes the simplest things are the most important. They’ll also help remind you of the reasons you are happy and lucky, and that the weekend is only four days away.
Think about the reasons you like your job
It’s natural to feel a bit down that the weekend is over but one way to combat these feelings is to think about the things you enjoy about your job. There might be a list of reasons you don’t like it but try and concentrate on the reasons you do. Changing your mindset from negative to positive is always a good way to approach your every day.
Leave your most hated tasks until later in the week
Unless it’s a major priority, save the worst tasks of your job for another day, especially if you are dreading them. You’re dreading Monday already so the more you avoid putting on your plate, the easier it will be.
Start your week off on a healthy note
We all know that physical fitness is one of the best stress relievers available to us but it’s easy to forget about it during the weekend. You don’t have to hit the gym but doing try your best to make sure your weekends are active so you feel less stressed, and put a brisk walk in your diary for a Monday too.
Plan some fun things to do
Don’t leave all your plans for the weekend or you’ll burn out with too much work and no play during the week. Plan a coffee with a friend or a trip to the cinema or a bite to eat during the week to ensure you always have something to look forward to.
Get a Good Night’s Rest on Sunday
Monday mornings are tough enough so don’t make it harder on yourself by binge-watching Netflix until all hours on Sunday night. It’s tempting to hold on to the last of the weekend but you’ll feel worse for it on Monday morning.
