Host a National Tea Break event this September

Throughout the entire month of September, ‘Suicide or Survive’ (SOS) are asking people all around the country to take part in their annual ‘National Tea Break’ campaign to get the nation talking about mental health.

The main aim of the campaign is to raise awareness around mental health and suicide prevention by having a cup of tea. It is the perfect time to talk and the suicide prevention initiative believe there’s never been a better time to talk about mental health.

A cup of tea can represent many things – it can make people feel at home, it can convey a sense of compassion and kindness, and for some it can even signify a simple gesture of love.

Throughout September, SOS National Tea Break events will take place in every corner of the country, all with the aim of encouraging people to open up and talk more about mental health.

Last year 133 events took place across Ireland for the Tea & Talk Campaign and this year the initiative is aiming to beat last year’s numbers.

To take part in the National Tea Break campaign throughout the month of September, simply host a tea morning for your family, friends or in the workplace. This will help us mark World Suicide Prevention Day (10th September, 2016) while raising vital funds for Suicide or Survive.  All funds raised will continue to help SOS bring programmes into communities throughout Ireland.

If you would like to hold your own National Tea Break  tea morning during the month of September please contact Suicide or Survive for your Tea & Talk pack. Contact Jacqui on or 1890 577 577.
