Monday morning energy boost

Even if your weekend has been a quiet one, without late nights or alcohol, it can still be hard to adjust to the start of another week and force yourself to get back into routine after a couple of days off. Sometimes what you need is a bit of an energy boost and what better way to kickstart your Monday than with a healthy, supercharged energy drink you can make yourself.

They’re natural, easy to make, not packed with added sugar and contain none of the bad ingredients we want to avoid. Here’s one energy shot you can make at home to fuel yourself for the day and week ahead.

Why it’s good? It’s full of omega 3 fatty acids, antioxidants and minerals, fibre, protein and is a natural energy boost.

  • 8 – 10 ounces water
  • 1 bag green tea
  • 1 – 2 tablespoons chia seeds
How to make it:
  1. Bring water to a boil.
  2. Let tea steep 3 – 5 minutes, then remove tea bag.
  3. Add chia seeds and mix thoroughly.
  4. Leave tea/chia seed mixture in the fridge for about an hour to cool.
  5. Shake and drink.
