NCBI opens first Irish pop-up shop
NCBI has opened its first Irish pop-up shop at 110 Grafton Street for December. Called Re:Newed the shop will showcase and sell high quality designer stock which has been generously donated by Irish designers, celebrities and the public.
Re:Newed perfectly fits the sustainability message that is so important to Irish consumers. It’s a double benefit – supporting NCBI and the important work they do and also the planet. As we've all become more conscious of our impact on the planet – and how fast fashion and constant buying is playing a role – there has been a return to the rails of charity shops in Dublin.
NCBI’s chain of 114 charity shops are a vital source of funding to enable them to deliver life changing services to people who are blind or vision impaired across Ireland.
With Covid19 dominating 2020 it has been such a difficult year for everyone but Covid19 has also robbed people of their sense of touch, which is vital for people who are blind or vision impaired and has led to increased feelings of isolation and vulnerability. Covid19 led to the temporary closure of all NCBI shops so Re:Newed for NCBI gives another opportunity to ensure it can continue to support the 55,000 children and adults living with sight loss in Ireland in 2021 and beyond.
