Irish coffee company launch nationwide campaign to support cafes
Calendar Coffee who are based in Barna in Galway have launched a nationwide campaign to support coffee shops and cafes during the Covid-19 outbreak. The coffee roasters will be donating 30% of every bag sold through their website to any café in Ireland. The best part, is that this can be ANY cafe in the Republic of Ireland, regardless of whether they stock Calendar Coffee or not.
Calendar Coffee has been roasting and delivering coffee for nearly two years to coffee lovers everywhere. The people behind Calendar Coffee Zarah and Dan have been pushing for the industry to do better when it comes to its impact on the environment. Teamwork Espresso donates €0.50 per Kg to World Coffee Research, a non-profit organisation, helping farmers adapt to climate change.
Calendar also provide their wholesale customers with reusable buckets of coffee to reduce the amount of single use plastic they have in their business. Calendar also offset all our shipping emissions through a reforestation project in Co.Clare.
With Ireland trying to come to terms with Covid-19 cafes throughout the country have had to shut their doors. "We wanted to bring the coffee community together, despite their doors being closed. Right now, we need to find ways to show love and support each other. The campaign is called #SpreadLoveNotGerms and we want to help as many cafes in Ireland as we can. The response so far has been heart-warming, and all the messages of support we've received for the cafes is community spirit at its finest,” explained Zarah.
To make this work, there'll be a €4 flat rate on all orders up to 2kg to cover shipping costs. All you need to do is include the name and location of your favourite cafe at checkout, and you can even share a message of support.
