Nailing it

If you are running out of time or trying to cut costs on salons with manicures, you can easily do your nails in a comfort of your home. Nagila Santos from NC Beauty shares her ten tips to a magic manicure.

 

1 Have all the essential tools that you will need organised before you start. You can find manicure kits at your local pharmacy:

·      Non acetone nail polish remover

·      2 small bowls

·      Nail clippers, nail file and nail buffer

·      Cuticle pusher or nippers

·      Cuticle remover

·      Hand and nail moisturizer

·      A good quality base coat, nail polish, top coat and cuticle oil

·      Nail polish drier spray

 

2 Remove any residues of nail polish. 

3 Clip and file. To create your favourite shape and size. 

4 Taking care of the cuticles. Apply the cuticle remover and hand cream, soak the tips of your fingers for max.3 to 5 mins. remove the excess of cream with a clean towel.

5 Gently push back your cuticles with a wooden stick. 

6 Buffing. Gentle, buff your nail bed, it helps to stimulate the circulation of your nails and to grow faster and stronger.

7 Prep is the key. Prep your nails with a cotton swab or pad to eliminate any residue of cream and the layers of base coat, nail polish and top coat.

8 Nail polish a good quality base coat, nail polish and top coat. I recommend Mavala products. 

9 Drying your nails fast. Spray the nail dry 30cm away from your nails, as it still fresh the pressure of the spray can ruin it. 

10 Finally, moisturising. To have a healthy-looking nails and hands, keep it always moisturised.
