Self Isolation Portraits by Emilija Jefremova
“‘There is a backstory to each photo and a caption with a little personal twist.’ ”
Photographer Emilija Jefremova based in Galway has been running a very exciting and uplifting project named ‘Self Isolation Portraits’ which focuses on the beautiful landscape and people around county Galway.
The photographer has gathered more than 70 portraits of the local residents outside their homes with their family, self isolation props or in places that mean a lot to them. All photographs are taken from a social distance.
‘I started this project on the first week of the lockdown, mostly to keep on working on something since I lost all of my jobs in event photography and to stay connected to my friends even keeping a healthy distance while taking a photo’ says Emilija. ‘There is a backstory to each photo and a caption with a little personal twist.’
Although this project may be coming to an end Emilija wants to let the wider audience know that everyone in Galway are staying healthy, happy and sending their own positive message to the rest of the country and the world.
