Shani Darden Facial Sculpting Wand €390, visit cultbeauty.com
What is it?
L.A. esthetician Shani Darden has released a facial sculpting wand that uses sound wave technology to stimulate muscles for a contoured result. I’m sure we have all dreamt of contoured cheekbones that won’t wash off at the end of the day, and this tool is claiming to be the answer. The Sculpting Wand is said to promote tighter, smoother skin with each vibration and it also transmits acoustic sound waves below the skin’s barrier which gives skin the contoured appearance. Keep in mind that you’ll need to stay consistent with this to see any long-lasting results.
YSL Rouge Sur Mesure Device €300, visit yslbeauty.co.uk
What is it?
This is a makeup guru’s dream invention. The new beauty device from YSL allows you to create your very own bespoke lipstick shade from the comfort of your home. The Lyma Laser Starter Kit €2399, visit lyma.life
What is it?
The Lyma laser is an at-home skin renewal treatment which uses a medical-grade laser to improve the appearance and texture of skin, although it was originally designed to heal joints in hospitals. It is said to reduce signs of aging, rosacea, acne, cellulite and even sagging (and for that price, I’m not surprised it promises flawless results). The starter kit comes with a 30-day supply of Active Mist and Priming Serum, both to be used alongside the laser every day. The Active Mist is formulated with the highest concentration of oxygen possible and acts as an antioxidant for the skin, while the Priming Serum helps the laser to deeply penetrate the skin. Ccelebrity facialists have used this beauty tool on A-list stars like Cara Delevingne to prepare for major events such as the Met Gala. What do you think?
Polished London Aqua XP Water Flosser €73.95, visit polishedlondon.com
What is it?
The start of 2022 saw the emergence of the Water Flosser, a handheld device that - you guessed it - sprays water in a steady pulse to remove food from between your teeth. While dentists have confirmed it's not a substitute for brushing your teeth or traditional flossing methods, it is a great addition to your dental routine to help remove bacteria from below your gum line and potentially prevent cavities. It’s also a great option for those with braces or fixed bridges.
Odacite Mon Ami Facial Acupressure Beauty Tool €21, visit spacenk.com
What is it?
This facial acupressure tool is said to help relax and smooth tension-lines from the face. Stemming from Chinese medicine, the simple tool has a rounded head which is used to apply light to medium pressure on points around the face to achieve a more youthful appearance. It’s almost like a yoga routine for your face - except with no sweating, panting or dread before each session.
Dr Dennis Gross Skincare x Spectralite BodyWare Pro €485.95, visit lookfantastic.ie
What is it?
Dr Dennis Gross is no stranger to facial light therapy so it’s no suprise a new bodyware device has been released this year. Using anti-inflammatory red lights and bacteria-busting blue lights, and a combination of both, the LED-powered device is meant to target blemishes and common skin-ageing factors, reducing their appearance, as well as give mild pain relief. The Spectralite BodyWare Pro is wireless and adjustable so it can work on all areas of the body and has two timer modes (three minutes and 14 minutes) depending on what results you are hoping to achieve.
Brushean Makeup Brush Sanitizer €87, visit tiltmakeup.com
What is it?
This UV sanitizer from Brushean doubles up as a disinfectant and makeup brush holder for your beauty tools. Using ultraviolet germicidal irradiation, the sanitizer can kill up to 99 per cent of nasty bacteria that may be lingering on your bristles. All you need to do is lift the top up, pop your brushes in and press the button for a 5-minute cleaning session. Of course you should still clean your brushes with soap and water every few weeks but it could be a great tool to have for in-between washes or travelling, especially if you have acne-prone skin.
Droplette Microinfusion Device €287.95, visit nordstrom.com
What is it?
The Droplette is a small device which takes active ingredients, like retinol and glycolic acid, and converts them into an ultra-fine mist which allows the ingredients to penetrate the skin's barrier deeper and more efficiently. It’s recommended using the Droplette twice a day as part of your regular skincare routine, replacing your toner/mask/serum steps but once per day is said to also noticeably improve your complexion. It’s still important to wash your face and moisturize to lock in hydration, but the Droplette can deliver better results with your active products than using your hands or a spray bottle. It’s also backed by NASA!
