Bathrooms are big for 2022 and the big trend is a nudge towards an at-home spa experience. The ‘spathroom’ doesn’t necessarily mean a big splurge on walk-in power showers and baths to luxuriate in (although they are part of the renewed focus on home sanctuary spaces). The trend for spa-inspired bathrooms began during the pandemic when we were spending more time at home.

And if anything, it has grown since then. The look leans heavily on neutral tones, natural materials and minimalist clean lines. But there are also some richer colours to add interest, botanical wallpaper on a feature wall, colour pop splashback tiles and colour bathroom suites (think beautiful shades of blue rather than the avocado sets from the '80s). Aromatherapy can be achieved with very little layout - in the form of evocative scented candles, flower and fruit inspired soaps and bringing the outside in with tropical plants.
