Faux Glow
One thing about me is that I cannot get a real tan. No matter how much tanning oil I lash on, I’m always left red, raw and headachey. I went on holiday recently and decided I didn’t want to look like a milk bottle surrounded by golden tourists on the beach, so I tried and tested a few fake tans to bring with me. The tricky part about fake tanning on holiday is you essentially need a wonder tan - something that doesn’t smell, streak, or stain (white linen will be the death of me), and will gradually fade without any patchiness. While I have yet to discover if such an elusive product exists, I did find a couple of gems that I’ll continue using into the winter.

Hair Care
I’ve had the same hair care routine for two years which worked wonders but recently, I’ve noticed that my hair becomes oily really quickly after washing and has more breakage than usual - alas, the life of a fake blonde. I’ve seen a lot of buzz around clarifying shampoo and scalp scrubs, so I decided to incorporate one into my regime. Already I’m seeing results in my hair texture and even the length. I create a nice lather with Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub with Sea Salt (€39) and follow with a hydrating hair mask like Dr Barbara Sturm Repair Hair Mask (€60) to inject moisture back into my hair. I’m also the proud new owner of long layers and curtain bangs so I wanted to try a blow-drying tool to help shape and smooth my hair without going overboard on heat. It’s no Dyson, but the Revlon Pro Collection Salon One-Step Hair Dryer & Styler (€45) does a great job.
Keeping It Active
With the change in seasons, as well as using makeup products, my skin has quite a bit of texture and congestion at the minute. I try and get a facial done once a month but I’ve been so busy that the responsibility of clean, smooth skin has fallen solely to my at-home products. I’ve been using the Skinician Radiant Glow Brightening Set (€68) for a couple of weeks now and I can see a big difference in my skin barrier, probably from the Advanced Enzyme Peel more than anything else. My skin looks smoother and it’s done a good job at clearing up my breakouts. The Vitamin C Elixer smells lovely too.
